What to Expect the Day of Your Pet's Surgery

Your pet’s safety is our #1 priority, which is why we perform in house pre-anesthetic blood work before any surgical procedure. We also conduct a physical exam to determine if there are any underlying health issues that may hinder anesthesia or the surgery itself. Once our veterinarian determines that your pet is healthy enough for surgery, we begin our monitoring process to check your pet’s heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing. We monitor your pet before, during, and after surgery.

After your pet’s surgery is complete, we continue to monitor them as they awaken from the anesthesia. We will then contact you to let you know your pet’s status and prepare discharge instructions for at-home care upon your arrival to pick your pet up. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about your pet’s recovery.
